Biography:

Judeen Bartos is Executive Director of the Office of Public School Academies at Oakland University, a position she has held since 2014. Prior to that she served for seven years as Assistant Director in the Office.  Judeen has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University.  Judeen has lived in Ferndale since 2001 and has been a member of the Library’s Board since 2011.  She currently holds the office of President, and has previously served as Vice-President, Secretary and as a member of several Board committees including the Personnel, Development and Fundraising, and Finance committees. Judeen is an ardent supporter of all libraries and is honored to work with her fellow board members and our dedicated staff  in making the library a vital part of the community.

Judeen’s term of office expires December 31, 2024.

Biography:

Meghan is the Principal of an elementary and preschool in the Centerline School District  She earned a BA and Teacher's Certificate in Theology and Teacher Education from the University of Notre Dame, an MS in School Leadership from the University of Dayton, and a Master's in Music Education from the University of Michigan. 

Meghan's lived in Ferndale for 19 years, and she and her family are dedicated library users.  She loves that libraries take society's best ideas and stories and make them available to everyone.

Biography:

Kelly Farrah has been a resident of Ferndale since 1997. She served on the board of the Friends of the Ferndale Library from 2010 to 2016, first as Treasurer, then several terms as President. Kelly is employed by People’s Community Services of Metropolitan Detroit and has been an active volunteer in many Ferndale community organizations. A self-described library geek, Kelly couldn’t imagine living anywhere else but Ferndale with her husband and two children.

Kelly serves as Board Secretary. Kelly’s term of office expires December 31, 2024

Biography:

Adrienne Fazzolara has lived in, and loved, Ferndale since 1999. She has been a Ferndale Library Trustee since 2012. Adrienne is a middle school language arts and social studies teacher where she is active on several district and school committees including strategic plan, achievement gap, character education, diversity, and the school writing achievement committee.Adrienne graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Communication Arts, a B. A. in Elementary Education, and a M. A. in Curriculum and Instruction. She is currently pursuing an Education Specialist in Leadership at Oakland University.

Adrienne serves as Vice-President of the Library Board and chairs the Personnel Committee. Adrienne’s term of office expires December 31, 2024.

Biography:

Amanda Hanlin is Chief of Staff at Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC). Previously, she was a Senior Researcher at Wayne State University’s (WSU’s) Center for the Study of Citizenship and also a Senior Planner for Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation (DESC). She received a Ph.D. in Political Science from Wayne State University. Her research emphasizes citizenship, political participation and community development. Amanda has more than fifteen years of strategic planning and development expertise spanning the non-profit, academic and corporate sectors. She was a Senior Development Strategist for Wambatech, an IT start-up company and automotive supplier. Prior, she held senior planning and community relations posts at WSU’s Center for Urban Studies and Detroit Community Health Connection (DCHC). Amanda began her career as a Policy and Planning Specialist for Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) until she departed to serve as a Writer at The White House. She lives in Ferndale with her husband Jason and children Vander, Eliza and Jasper. Amanda has served on the library board since 2016 and is the chair of the Building Committee.

Biography:

Erin Hooper is the Global Marketing Manager for the Education and Science + Technology sectors at Stantec, an
international architecture, engineering and design firm headquartered in Alberta, Canada. She has lived
in and around Ferndale for more 15 years but became an official homeowner in the city in 2012. A proud
English and Journalism major (B.A., Oakland University, 2005), Erin has always had a love for reading,
writing and, especially, information access. She has been an active member of CREW Detroit (the Detroit
chapter of the international organization, Commercial Real Estate Women) since 2012, serving on the
board of directors for the 2019-2020 term, as well as on chapter committees focused on educational
programming and communication. With two children in Ferndale Public Schools, it’s important to her
that local students grow up in a city rich with culture, where resources are equitable and expected, and
from which young people grow up approaching life with empathy.

Biography:

Kevin Yezbick has been a Ferndale resident since 2009. He earned his Masters in Library and Information Science in 2006 at Wayne State University and brings over ten years of experience in Public Libraries to his service with the Library Board. He has previously held terms as both President and Vice-President of the Friends of the Ferndale Library. Currently employed as a Digital Asset Manager in the private sector, Kevin’s belief in Public Libraries as anchor institutions that enrich the culture and lives of their communities led him to accept an invitation to be appointed as an interim board member in 2015. Currently he serves on the Finance Committee.

Kevin serves as Board Treasurer.  Kevin’s term of office expires December 31, 2026
